A "column + sub" solution designed for mobility and wide coverage
The Samson Resound VX8.1 belongs to the family of portable column PA systems: a format designed to offer even projection and high intelligibility, while remaining quick to deploy. Its architecture combines a 12-inch subwoofer and a column composed of 8 x 3.5-inch speakers arranged in segments to cover the audience evenly, even in rooms where traditional speaker setups (speakers on stands) can create "too loud" or "too quiet" zones.
For which uses and profiles?
Versatile and ready to go, the VX8.1 is ideal for mobile DJs, bands, singer-songwriters, hosts, and event performances where an all-in-one system is sought: quick setup, integrated mixing, and enough headroom to sound reinforce an audience without sacrificing clarity. Thanks to its built-in mixer, it is also suitable for "mini-PA" configurations with mic + instrument + backing tracks, without necessarily adding an external console.
Power, coverage, and control: the DNA of the VX8.1
The system relies on Class D amplification delivering 700 watts total, split as 350 W for the subwoofer and 350 W for the column. The result: a dynamic sound system capable of reaching 125 dB SPL, while maintaining an elegant and easy-to-transport form factor.
"Center" or "rotation" coverage: adapt the stage to the room
The column uses a network of eight 3.5-inch speakers mounted in segments. In center position, you benefit from a horizontal coverage of 120 degrees for controlled sound projection facing the audience. Need to open up more? The "rotation" mode allows up to 200 degrees by orienting two 45-degree segments in opposite directions: practical for wide rooms, dispersed audiences, or events where the audience is not only "in front".
Built-in DSP: 4 presets tailored to your program
To simplify adjustments, the VX8.1 integrates a DSP processor with 4 presets: Music, Live, Speech, and DJ. This allows you to quickly optimize the overall balance depending on the content (vocals, live performance, music program), without spending time "recreating" your sound for each gig.
Connectivity and mixing: everything you need, without complications
The 3-channel mixer is integrated into the subwoofer and positioned on top for direct access. You have inputs for microphone, instrument, and line sources, as well as an RCA input. For modern playback, Bluetooth connectivity facilitates streaming playlists, backing tracks, or interludes from a smartphone or tablet. Finally, the XLR Thru output allows sending the signal to a second VX8.1 system to extend coverage or power depending on the setup.
Road-ready: sturdy, practical, fast
With its solid plywood enclosure, textured paint, and steel grilles, the VX8.1 is built to handle back-to-back gigs. The column elements interlock for quick setup without cables or stands, and side handles facilitate handling. The system also includes a shoulder bag for easier transport of the entire column assembly.

Questions frequently asked
What power and sound level does the Samson Resound VX8.1 column system deliver?
The Class D amplification delivers a total of 700 W, split between 350 W for the 12-inch subwoofer and 350 W for the column. The maximum announced level reaches 125 dB SPL.
Can a microphone, guitar, and Bluetooth audio be connected simultaneously?
The built-in 3-channel mixer includes a combo XLR/6.35 mm jack Mic/Line input and a combo XLR/6.35 mm jack Line/Instrument input. An RCA input is also available for a stereo source. Wireless playback is provided via Bluetooth, with dedicated level control.
What is the coverage angle in the column’s rotation mode?
The central configuration covers 120° horizontally. In rotation mode, two 45° segments can be oriented in opposite directions to extend coverage to 200°.
Is the system easy to transport?
Weighing 30.4 kg, with side handles and a shoulder bag included for the column elements, the system is designed to facilitate transportation.
How can a second system be connected to cover a larger area?
