An anniversary S6 that captures Seagull's DNA, "1982" version
To celebrate over 40 years of success of the S6, Seagull revisits its iconic formula with the S6 Collection 1982. The goal is clear: to recapture the aesthetics and character of a "vintage" S6 while maintaining what has made the line famous - a careful selection of components and a design intended to remain accessible. Like all Seagull guitars, it is made in Canada from sustainably sourced woods.
For which guitarists and styles?
Thanks to its shorter scale length and very immediate response, the S6 Collection 1982 is suitable for beginners (comfort, ease of handling) as well as intermediate and advanced musicians seeking an expressive acoustic. It is particularly well-suited for fingerpicking, pop/folk, chanson, dynamic strumming, and pairs very well with vocals thanks to its balanced spectrum.
Sound
The solid cedar top delivers natural warmth, excellent attack sensitivity, and harmonic richness ideal for nuanced playing, even at low dynamics. The cherry used for the back and sides contributes to a precise and balanced response, with solid projection and a present midrange, perfect for standing out in an acoustic mix. The natural semi-gloss finish allows the instrument to vibrate freely, enhancing the sensation of resonance, sustain, and the "bright, rich, warm, and balanced" character unique to this edition.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Seagull S6 Collection 1982 suitable for beginners?
Its short scale length of 630 mm slightly reduces the tension felt on the steel strings and makes tuning easier. The nut width of 45.72 mm provides a spacing adapted for finger placement. The solid cedar top responds easily to a light touch.
What sound does a solid cedar top and cherry body provide?
The pressure-tested solid cedar top brings warmth and quick response. The cherry back and sides support pronounced mids and balanced projection.
Can it be plugged into an amplifier?
This guitar is acoustic and does not have built-in electronics.
What is the neck comfort of this folk guitar?
The glued-in silver maple neck is combined with a 16-inch radius (406.4 mm). Its 24.84-inch scale length and Graphtech nut contribute to a smooth playing feel. The 14:1 ratio tuners allow precise tuning adjustment.
Is there a cutaway or a left-handed version?
The announced configuration is right-handed, without a cutaway. The access to the upper frets corresponds to a traditional folk body, with a natural matte finish and chrome hardware.
