What SSL Native Vocalstrip 2 + sonible pure:unmask Is For

This plugin duo is designed to speed up vocal mixing and solve one of the most common production issues: a vocal that lacks stability, presence, or is masked by the instrumental. SSL Native Vocalstrip 2 handles essential vocal processing (dynamics, sibilance, plosives, equalization) within a single interface, while sonible pure:unmask acts as an intelligent spectral separation tool driven by smart profiles to make two tracks (vocals and instruments, bass and kick, guitars and keyboards) coexist without compromising musicality.

Whether you mix pop, rap, electronic, rock, or podcasts, the goal is the same: achieve a clear, controlled, and professional vocal while preserving the character of the recording. You save time, reduce the number of instances needed, and secure your decisions thanks to precise visual feedback.

Main Features

SSL Native Vocalstrip 2: a complete, modular, and fast vocal channel strip

Vocalstrip 2 combines four voice-dedicated modules to transform a raw signal into a mix-ready sound with just a few adjustments. The core processing relies on a Compander module (hybrid expander/compressor) ideal for stabilizing dynamics, limiting differences between verses and choruses, and giving consistency to an uneven take. You also benefit from intelligent de-esser and de-ploser modules based on dynamics, designed to tame sibilance and plosives without squashing air or articulation.

Equalization is handled via a three-band EQ designed for mixing comfort: high-pass filter, added "air" in the high frequencies, and a mid band with an asymmetric notch to target resonances without hollowing out the vocal. The whole remains very musical, perfect for placing a vocal upfront without making it harsh.

Custom signal flow and visual feedback to decide faster

Unlike a fixed chain, Vocalstrip 2 allows you to set the module order. For example, you can EQ before compressing to control an overly energetic area, or compress first to better dial in the "air" in the high spectrum afterward. Whatever your choice, you keep real-time visual feedback on each processor, with a full-frequency EQ graph and FFT indicators, very useful for spotting harshness, resonance, or sibilant zones.

To refine your decisions, you have an A/B listening feature (instant comparison of two settings) and presets inspired by artists and mixing engineers, handy for quick starting and then customizing according to the vocal, microphone, and style.

sonible pure:unmask: mix clarity through intelligent spectral unmasking

pure:unmask turns "frequency conflict" into a simple action: you select a profile suited to the priority track (sidechain signal), start the learning process, and the algorithm applies targeted spectral ducking on the background track. Result: vocals, snare, or bass find their place without multiplying dynamic EQs and automations.

The interface centers on understanding: the spectral display shows signals and changes in real time (input/output spectrum, amount of ducking applied, spectrum of the prioritized signal). You then adjust behavior with clear controls: Speed (response time), Unmasking (intensity), and Range (affected frequency range). You can also choose the frequency resolution of the processing to balance precision and natural feel.
