A Classic Vibe Paying Tribute to the '60s Strat
The Classic Vibe '60s Stratocaster is part of a series designed to capture the aesthetics and feel of Fender models from the 1960s while remaining accessible. It features the iconic Strat codes: emblematic ergonomics, vintage visual identity, and retro-style hardware, with a glossy "vintage" tinted neck finish that enhances the instrument's classic character.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
Thanks to its slim "C" neck and narrow, tall frets, this Strat is particularly comfortable for beginner to intermediate guitarists who want to progress on an inspiring instrument, but it will also appeal to experienced players seeking a Strat with a '60s look. Its SSS configuration is well-suited for pop, funk, blues, rock, and anything that requires definition, attack, and "snappy" intermediate positions.
Sound
The heart of this Classic Vibe lies in its three Fender-Designed Alnico single-coil pickups. Expect a precise and open sound with great responsiveness to playing nuances (pick attack, fingerstyle, volume variations). The 5-position selector switch allows you to switch from a sharper bridge pickup to a rounder neck pickup, including positions 2 and 4, typical of "quacky" and percussive Strat tones. The controls include a master volume and two tone knobs (one dedicated to neck/middle pickups, one dedicated to bridge pickup), offering simple and effective control to soften overdrive, shape a clean tone, or balance a bright amp. The vintage-style synchronized tremolo adds expressive effects, from subtle shimmer to more pronounced vibratos.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay close to the original string gauge and maintain playing comfort, plan on a set of nickel-plated steel electric strings in .009-.042. Picks (various thicknesses) are also an excellent complement to explore the full dynamics of the single-coil pickups.
