The Thinline Telecaster, the Lightweight Fender Icon
Born in the late 1960s to offer a lighter and more resonant Tele, the Thinline shape combines the typical Telecaster attack with subtle acoustic airiness. This Squier Affinity version carries Fender's DNA in an accessible, reliable, and stage-ready format.
For Which Musicians and Styles?
Ideal for beginners and intermediate players seeking a versatile and inspiring electric guitar. Perfect for pop, rock, country, funk, indie, and modern blues, it fits well both in bands and at home thanks to its light weight and comfortable neck.
Sound Characteristics
The chambered poplar body provides a woodier low end and natural projection, while the ceramic single-coil pickups deliver clear, punchy, and precise highs. The string-through bridge enhances attack and sustain, while the simple electronics (Master Volume, Master Tone, 3-position selector) allow you to go from the sharp twang of the bridge pickup to rounder, singing tones on the neck, with a very effective middle position for arpeggios and funk.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
A set of nickel strings 9-42 (original setup) will preserve tension and feel. Choose a Telecaster-sized gig bag or hard case for perfect protection, a comfortable strap (standard strap buttons), and an electric guitar capo (9.5" radius). A quality 6.35 mm jack cable will ensure a clean signal.
