The Sonicview Range: The New Generation of Tascam Digital Consoles

With Sonicview, Tascam launches a range of digital recording and mixing consoles designed around current uses: fast productions, instant recalls, network integration, and remote control. The guiding idea is clear: to offer a modern control surface with immediate visualization and advanced tactile interaction, while maintaining high standards for audio quality and stability in professional environments.

The Sonicview 16 and Sonicview 24 share the same internal architecture and philosophy. The main difference lies in the dimensions and the number of physical inputs, mic preamps, faders, and touchscreens depending on the model. The Sonicview 16 stands out for its optimized format and its 16 mic/line inputs, ideal for compact setups without compromising performance.

A Console Designed for Studio, Touring, Installation, and Broadcast

The Tascam Sonicview 16 targets sound engineers and managers who want a console that is fast, clear, and adaptable. In the studio, it becomes a powerful mixing and routing center, with a multichannel USB interface for production and postproduction work. On tour or in a mobile studio, its "everything at hand" approach and motorized faders facilitate scene changes and real-time adjustments.

In fixed installations (places of worship, multipurpose rooms, corporate) as well as in broadcast, network integration, flexible buses, and the ability to control the console wirelessly from a distance meet daily operational constraints: simplicity for operators, precision for technicians, and service continuity.

Touch Control, Assignments, and Audio Engine: Ergonomics Serving the Mix

3 Customizable Touchscreens for More Direct Mixing

The Sonicview 16 focuses on an "on-demand" ergonomics: the 3 fully customizable touchscreens allow you to organize the display according to your priorities (levels, dynamics, equalization, auxiliary sends, etc.). Combined with user-assignable buttons, they speed up operations and reduce unnecessary page changes, whether you are mixing, recording, or live.

Motorized Faders and Consistent Recall of Settings

The motorized faders provide real comfort when working with scenes, snapshots, or sessions to recall. You immediately find the level positions, which secures transitions and makes mixing smoother, especially when multiple operators take turns.

Mixing Engine on FPGA with 54-bit Floating Point

At the heart of the console, the mixing engine is based on a FPGA and 54-bit floating point processing. This design aims for high calculation precision and comfortable dynamic range to handle complex mixes with numerous signal processing tasks, while maintaining consistent audio quality throughout the chain.

Dante Network, Multichannel USB, and Built-in Stereo Recording

To easily integrate into a professional ecosystem, the Sonicview 16 offers Dante network features and a multichannel USB audio interface operating at 96 kHz / 32 bits. You can thus connect a production computer, a recording system, or an existing audio network without multiplying conversions.

A built-in stereo audio recorder is also included, with recording on SD card or USB. This is a practical solution to capture a reference mix, archive a performance, or secure a broadcast without relying on an external device.

Expandability and Remote Control

The console features an expansion card slot to increase connectivity as needed. Finally, wireless remote control and intuitive control software allow you to adjust the console from another listening point, in the studio or on-site, to refine a mix as close as possible to the real environment.
