The T5z, Taylor's Hybrid
A more compact version of the famous T5, the Taylor T5z Classic Koa is established as a benchmark in hybrid guitars. Designed to interact equally well with an acoustic amp or an electric amp, it combines meticulous craftsmanship and smart electronics to offer an astonishingly wide sonic spectrum.
For Which Guitarist and Styles?
Versatile and intuitive, the T5z is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want to cover folk, pop, light rock, blues, jazz, or worship without changing instruments. The satin-finish slim neck and short scale length promote playing comfort, precise bends, and open chords, whether you play fingerstyle or with a pick.
The Sound
The combination of an acoustic body pickup and two humbuckers (invisible neck / visible bridge) allows switching from a rich, woody acoustic tone to clear, full, and slightly crunchy electric textures. The 5-position selector switch smoothly cycles through voicings, while the "thinline" hollow body provides projection, controlled resonance, and natural sustain, with excellent feedback resistance on stage.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To get the best out of the T5z, choose a light gauge electric string set (nickel), a standard strap with strap buttons, a quality 6.35 mm instrument cable, and if needed, a 6-string electric guitar capo. The included Aerocase offers effective daily protection.
