The Vox APC-2 targets beginner to intermediate guitarists, as well as songwriters and traveling musicians who want an immediate tool. It's ideal for daily practice, backstage warm-ups, creative sessions at home or on the go, and light busking. Thanks to its rhythms and effects, it easily adapts to pop, rock, blues, funk, R&B, jazz, and more modern textures.

The sound

Its 2 pickups feed a built-in analog amplifier with voicing inspired by the Vox spirit, capable of delivering a bright, dynamic clean tone, then a punchier crunch by pushing the gain. The BOOST switch thickens the signal and increases presence for riffs or leads, while the effects (chorus, tremolo, delay, reverb) add width, movement, and depth without additional pedals.

The craftsmanship contributes to this lively response: the poplar body promotes balance and attack, and the maple neck with rosewood fingerboard helps maintain definition. The short 24" / 610 mm scale length slightly reduces string tension, making bends easier and playing comfortable, especially during extended sessions. Finally, the omnidirectional Tectonic Audio speaker, assisted by 2 passive radiators, delivers a full and coherent sound around you, convenient for playing without being directly "in front" of the instrument.

Recommended compatible accessories

To fully enjoy the portable format, plan for 6 AA batteries (alkaline or NiMH rechargeable). For strings, 6-string electric guitar sets in 09-42 or 10-46 gauges suit depending on desired flexibility. A clip-on tuner and some picks complete a simple and effective practice setup perfectly.
