A High-End Expander in the Lineage of the Quantum
After making an impression with the Quantum in 2018, Waldorf extends its "synthesis without borders" approach in the Iridium, in an expander format. The idea is clear: to regain the power and depth of sound generation from the range, in a more straightforward machine to integrate into a setup, while maintaining a modern workflow centered around the touchscreen and ergonomics designed for speed.Who It's For and the Styles Where Iridium Excels
The Waldorf Iridium targets advanced to expert musicians who want to sculpt detailed sounds and move between sound design, composition, and performance. Thanks to its engines (wavetable, granular "Particles," Resonator, Kernels), it shines in ambient, techno, electro, synthwave, modern pop, but also in film scoring for moving pads, organic textures, and cinematic timbres. In live settings, its 4 x 4 pad matrix facilitates triggering sequences, chords, scales, or arpeggios, while MPE and MIDI 2.0 integration (OS 3.3.0) promotes expressive playing with recent controllers.Technical specifications
