It excels in rock, metal, funk, pop, gospel, and fusion, particularly when a firm and clear low end is needed, including in modern tunings or with dynamic right-hand playing.
The Sound
The combination of an alder body and a bolt-on neck promotes a crisp attack, good balance, and a usable midrange in the mix. The 3-piece neck (maple and ekanga) provides stability and precise response, while the wenge fingerboard enhances definition and bite, especially appreciated on a 5-string to keep the low B string clear.
On the electronics side, the two MEC "Dynamic Correction" active J pickups deliver an articulate sound with a clear spectrum and clean lows.
