It's technically possible by changing the nut, but we don't recommend it. Since the saddle is angled to compensate for the string gauge, fitting the strings in reverse will cause intonation problems that become increasingly noticeable in the higher register. In addition, since the bracing is not symmetrical, the guitar won't sound as good as it should.

Cleaning depends on the type of guitar and its finish:

Electric guitar / lacquered acoustic guitar— Use a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust, then a specific guitar product to clean and bring back the shine of the lacquer.

Folk guitar (glossy or satin top)— Clean with a soft cloth. For satin finishes, avoid polishing products that could alter the look by making it glossy.

The wood of your guitar constantly reacts to the conditions in its environment. The ideal humidity level is between 45 and 55%: below that, the wood shrinks and can crack; above that, it swells and the glue joints weaken.

Get a hygrometer and place it in the case to measure the average over 24 hours. If the level is too low, a case humidifier is usually enough. If it's too high, silica gel in the case combined with a dehumidifier in the room will do the job. Keeping your guitar in its closed case remains the best everyday protection.

If there's not enough humidity:the frets become sharp at the edges of the fretboard, the action drops abnormally and buzzing appears.

If there's too much humidity:the action rises, the bridge starts to lift, the chrome parts oxidise.

In both cases, don't delay in coming to the store or contacting us. A guitar that hasn't cracked yet isn't necessarily in good health — internal damage can precede visible signs.
