Summary of This Method
This 2nd edition, published following the success of Volume 49 "Sugar," highlights the Hammond B-3 organ to offer a particularly organic play-along experience close to a live stage context. The tracks are recorded at relaxed "groove" tempos, ideal for refining rhythmic placement, phrasing, line breathing, and articulation, while exploring new harmonic colors.
The stereo separation allows you to lighten the accompaniment by removing, as needed, the bass part or the organ voicings/chords. This is a valuable asset for organists (left hand, pedals, independence work), but also for all instrumentalists wishing to leave more space for their own comping or an alternative rhythm section.
The rhythm section features Hank Marr (Hammond B-3 and synthesizer) and Steve Davis (drums), delivering a flexible and conducive performance for practice: timing, dynamics, chorus construction, and development of a jazz standards repertoire.
