Agean 22" RIDE LIGHT LEGEND

Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range

Handcrafted in Turkey, in Uzunköprü, the Legend series is part of the great tradition of hand-shaped cymbals, where hammering and lathing serve not only aesthetics but directly determine the dynamics, complexity, and personality of each piece. Within the Agean range, the Legend positions itself as a series with an organic and highly musical character, designed for drummers seeking an expressive, nuanced cymbal capable of "breathing" with their playing.

Target Audience for This Drum/Instrument

This 22-inch ride cymbal is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced drummers who want a sensitive ride offering a wide palette of touch nuances. Its "Light" version is particularly suited to contexts where musicality and texture are prioritized over extreme volumes: modern jazz, pop, indie, funk, soul, studio work, blues, organic rock, and worship. It remains comfortable in live settings thanks to its strong presence while maintaining a warm character that avoids an overly bright or metallic effect.

Features and Innovations

The Legend Ride Light 22-inch focuses on essentials: traditional manufacturing and intensive, deep hand hammering that shape the cymbal's response. This shaping work promotes a more "alive" sensation under the stick: the cymbal reacts quickly, develops complex harmonics, and maintains a pleasant playing definition even when increasing the wash level. The 22-inch size provides a solid foundation and wide sonic breadth, ideal for establishing a harmonic carpet without losing rebound control.

The Sound

The B25 Bronze Alloy (75 percent copper, 25 percent tin, traces of silver) contributes to a rich color, often perceived as denser and deeper than a more standard bronze. On a 22-inch ride, this translates to a more present low end, a sense of body, and harmonics that open gradually rather than bursting out too brightly.

The intensive and deep hammering plays a central role: it complexifies the spectrum, adds warmth, and gives a "boutique" signature with micro-variations that make the cymbal inspiring. On the stick, you get musical definition, with a broad and enveloping wash when the playing is emphasized. The strong presence announced by the series is felt in the cymbal's ability to occupy space without becoming overwhelming, especially useful for drummers seeking an expressive ride capable of supporting and carrying the band.
