Agean 22" RIDE MINI CUP LEGEND

Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

The Legend Series by Agean follows the great tradition of Turkish handcrafted cymbals: an approach where the metal is shaped to achieve a musical, nuanced, and expressive response. This Ride Mini Cup 22 is handcrafted in Turkey at Uzunköprü and stands as a characterful ride in the range, designed for drummers seeking a cymbal with a marked grain, rich timbre, and true personality.

Who This Drum/Cymbal Is For

This ride cymbal is primarily aimed at intermediate to advanced drummers who want an expressive ride capable of adding color and depth to their playing. Its warm and rich profile is particularly suited for rock, blues, modern jazz, funk, and studio settings where a cymbal that "tells a story" without becoming overpowering is desired. The Mini Cup version will also appeal to drummers who use a lot of tip playing (precise patterns, articulated grooves) and prefer a more controlled bell than a ride with a large cup.

Features and Innovations

The Legend Ride Mini Cup 22 is based on traditional manufacturing and intensive hand hammering, with deep and intensive hammering that densifies the harmonic spectrum and enhances the sense of sonic relief. The Mini Cup design steers the cymbal toward a more controlled definition : the bell remains present but more integrated into the overall sound, facilitating placement in the mix and limiting overly aggressive peaks. The result is a versatile ride, both musical at low dynamics and solid when played with increased intensity.

Sound Characteristics

Its B25 Bronze Alloy (75 percent copper, 25 percent tin, traces of silver) promotes a warm and rich signature, with a marked presence and generous low-midrange. The sound develops naturally, with complex harmonics and an organic texture typical of hand-worked cymbals.

In playing, the cymbal offers a defined attack and balanced projection : enough body to carry a groove while maintaining musicality that avoids a too stiff "metallic" effect. The Mini Cup contributes to a more contained bell and a more homogeneous overall sound, ideal for drummers who want an expressive ride capable of moving from subtle to accented playing without losing control.
