A remote control designed for the AirTurn ecosystem and creative apps
The AirTurn DIGIT 500 fits within the AirTurn approach: offering a Bluetooth remote capable of controlling a wide variety of applications, whether for page turning, media launching, controlling a teleprompter, or triggering actions in the studio. Its strength lies in its versatility: it can be held in the hand like a compact remote or become the "brain" of a setup with switches (hand, bite switch, pedal) by relying on its internal modes and customization via the management app.
Who is the AirTurn DIGIT 500 for?
This remote is aimed at musicians and presenters who want reliable control without letting go of their instrument or breaking their flow: sheet music reading and page turning, lyrics and tablatures with scrolling, triggering backing tracks, managing markers, or remote commands in the home studio. It is also well suited for "production" needs: presentations, teleprompters, media player control, and even photo/video capture depending on the functions offered by your application. The advantage is to centralize simple actions (next/previous, start/stop, scroll, shortcuts) in a discreet and configurable format.
Customization, modes, and advanced control
Connecting switches and use as a remote control
The DIGIT 500 accepts almost all momentary switches (hand, bite, pedal). It features two 3.5mm Jack inputs and can be expanded to four switches using a splitter cable (sold separately). To accommodate pedals or switches with 6.35mm Jack connectors, two 6.35mm Jack adapters are included. Additionally, the device can also serve as a pocket-sized Bluetooth remote for teleprompters and presentations, with a "palm-sized" format that is easy to hold.
7 built-in modes and broad app compatibility
The DIGIT 500 offers seven built-in modes that store switch commands to work with many apps, including those supported via AirDirect. The goal is quick setup: you select a mode suited to your use, pair the device via Bluetooth, then control your app with consistent actions (page turns, scrolling, playback, etc.).
AirTurn Manager: macros, keyboard, mouse, and MIDI
With the free AirTurn Manager app, the DIGIT 500 can be customized to fit the logic of almost any app accepting keyboard strokes, macros, mouse clicks, or MIDI commands. You can also adjust performance and comfort settings: Auto-Repeat, Idle Time (sleep), Low Power, Fast Response Mode, and Debounce to ensure reliable triggering. The DIGIT 500 also allows you to select the switch type according to your hardware and playing style: Momentary, Latching, Pulse, or Command.
Updates, pairing, and multi-device configurations
AirTurn Manager supports Over-the-Air firmware updates to benefit from the latest features. For pairing, you can choose open pairing (instant connection, convenient when frequently switching devices) or closed pairing (memorized connection, useful to avoid accidental connection to another host). For advanced setups, it is possible to connect up to eight AirTurn devices simultaneously to increase the number of available commands.
