An Avantis Solo Built for the Field, Direct Successor to the Avantis
Like the Avantis, the Avantis Solo features the XCVI FPGA engine at 96 kHz and an architecture designed to handle live constraints without flinching: speed of execution, stability, and consistent audio quality. Its lightweight alloy chassis prioritizes robustness and mobility while retaining the Avantis DNA: a modern control surface, Full HD touchscreens, and a highly configurable mixing environment.
In this pack, the console is accompanied by the dPack plugins (to extend processing and functions) and the GX4816 (I/O expansion), all complemented by a protective cover for transport and daily use.
Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
The Allen & Heath Avantis Solo targets sound engineers, stage managers, and providers who want a 96 kHz digital console capable of managing dense setups with imperceptible latency. It suits concerts as well as corporate, broadcast, places of worship, or theater configurations, where vocal clarity, dynamic precision, and routing security are priorities.
Thanks to its speed-oriented approach (assignments, layers, programmable keys, touch control), it promotes reactive mixing: adjusting a group, recalling an action, accessing processing, or re-routing a bus is done without breaking the workflow. With the AMM (Automatic Mic Mixer) supporting up to 64 channels, it also meets multi-mic scenarios (round tables, conferences, musicals) requiring clarity and intelligibility.
A Console Designed for Performance: Engine, Workflow, and Processing
XCVI FPGA 96 kHz: Speed Serving the Mix
The XCVI FPGA core offers a very direct mixing experience, driven by an ultra-low latency of 0.7 ms. In practice, this translates into immediate comfort when adjusting dynamics, equalization, and effects sends, especially on sensitive sources (vocals, drums, in-ear monitors, stage monitors).
Continuity UI: Touch and Physical Control Combined
The "Continuity UI" user interface seamlessly connects physical controls and touchscreens for faster and more "instrumented" operation. The 15.6-inch Full HD capacitive touchscreens and gesture control speed up parameter access, while assignable controls maintain a "hands-on-console" logic essential in live situations.
Processing, Effects, and Extensions via dPack
With its 12 RackExtra FX effect engines and dedicated stereo returns, the Avantis Solo offers a solid platform to build spaces (reverbs), enhance presence (delays, modulations), or control dynamics in the mix. The dPack option adds processing derived from dLive, including 16 Dyn8 engines, as well as a performance-oriented approach with zero latency per channel for DEEP compressors and Dual-Valve preamps (depending on activated processing).
Flexible Mixing: Configurable Buses, DCA, and Layers
The fully configurable mixing bus architecture is a major asset for adapting the console to your method: wedge monitors, in-ear, matrices, subgroups, specific broadcasts... The 16 DCAs facilitate managing large sessions (vocal groups, drums, backline, tracks), and surface organization gains efficiency thanks to 72 fader strips (12 faders, 6 layers) and fully assignable layout. To go further, an optional dedicated main section can complement ergonomics according to your needs.
Professional Connectivity: SLink, Optional Cards, and USB Recording
The SLink port allows connection to remote I/O expansions as well as the ME personal mixing system, convenient for setups requiring musician autonomy and rapid deployment. On the integration side, the 2 I/O ports accept optional cards (depending on configuration) and can operate at 128 x 128 at 96 kHz, notably for Dante, MADI, and gigaACE. Finally, stereo recording and playback via USB meet simple capture, hold music, or reference playback needs.

Questions frequently asked
What does the Allen & Heath Avantis Solo + dPack + GX4816 bundle include?
The bundle includes the Avantis Solo console, the dPack plugins, the GX4816 I/O expansion, and a protective cover.
How many channels and buses does the Avantis Solo offer?
The console is based on a 64-channel and 42-bus configurable architecture. Its 12 faders are distributed over 6 layers, providing 72 fader strips. The XCVI FPGA engine operates at 96 kHz with a specified latency of 0.7 ms.
Does the dPack provide additional processing?
With the included dPack, 16 Dyn8 engines from dLive are available. The DEEP compressors and Dual-Valve preamps can also be used depending on the enabled processing.
What connections are available for expansions and the audio network?
The surface integrates an SLink port for remote I/O expansions and the ME personal mixing system. Two I/O slots accept optional Dante, MADI, or gigaACE cards, supporting up to 128 x 128 channels at 96 kHz.
Is the Avantis Solo suitable for conferences with many microphones?
The built-in AMM can manage up to 64 channels over 1, 2, or 4 zones. This feature meets the needs of round tables, conferences, and musicals requiring automatic microphone management.
