The Artist Series: the balance between fine luthiery and stage efficiency
Part of Alvarez's Artist series, the AU66TCESHB aims for a very musical compromise: wood and assembly choices designed for resonance, combined with discreet and practical electronics. Its glossy Shadowburst finish and manufacturing details reinforce its "ready to play" positioning, equally comfortable in rehearsal and concert settings.
Who is this ukulele for?
This model is especially suited for intermediate to advanced musicians seeking an expressive tenor capable of handling energetic playing as well as subtle nuances. It works very well for vocal accompaniment, folk/pop rhythms, richer jazz-type voicings, and melodic parts thanks to its tenor format and generous projection.
Sound
The solid African mahogany top delivers a warm tone with present mids and precise attack, ideal for maintaining clarity in chords. The mahogany back and sides enhance register coherence and contribute to a longer sustain feel. The Single Cross Brace is designed to optimize projection while maintaining balance, while the slotted bridge promotes good vibration transmission. Finally, the dovetail neck joint contributes to homogeneous resonance and appreciable stability, both acoustically and amplified.
Recommended compatible accessories
To get the best out of the instrument daily, prioritize spare CR2032 lithium batteries (x2) for the electronics, as well as a humidifier suitable for small acoustic instruments to preserve the solid top in dry air conditions.
