The Laureate Series: Acoustic Heritage Revisited by Alvarez

With the Laureate series, Alvarez delivers a decidedly high-end approach where every manufacturing detail is designed to combine tradition and modern precision. Inspired by early 20th-century instruments, these guitars highlight classic luthiery choices and particularly refined finishes. The LP70e fits this philosophy by offering an authentic Parlor format while maintaining rich projection and contemporary dynamics, true to Alvarez's DNA.

Who Is It For and For What? An Expressive Parlor, from Studio to Stage

The Laureate LP70e is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a characterful, comfortable, and precise acoustic. Its Parlor format is especially inspiring for fingerstyle, blues, folk, light accompaniment, and studio recordings where a defined sound without excessive bass is desired. Thanks to its LR Baggs electronics, it also becomes an excellent partner for acoustic live performances, delivering a natural and articulate sound.

Sound

The solid AAAA Sitka spruce top provides clarity, a crisp attack, and a wide dynamic range: the guitar responds to every nuance of the right hand, from fingerpicking to light strumming. The solid Indian rosewood back and sides enrich the spectrum with deeper lows, bright highs, and generous sustain, while maintaining clear note separation. The FS6 bracing contributes to a lively and balanced projection, particularly appreciated on a small format. The bone nuts enhance precision and vibration transmission, while the ebony (fingerboard, bridge, and pins) adds a sense of stability and a crisp response. Finally, the LR Baggs HiFi allows faithful amplification of the instrument, ideal for preserving the acoustic tone live.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original tension and balance, opt for a D'Addario XSAPB1253 (12-53) string set, identical to the factory setup. An acoustic guitar humidifier is also recommended to preserve the solid woods during seasonal changes.
