Masterworks: the "premium lutherie" approach at the heart of the MP series

The MASTERWORKS series focuses on parameters that truly transform playability and sound: top thickness, bracing profile and weight, back design, wood selection, and component quality. The goal is clear: to achieve a guitar that is powerful, defined, and very responsive. The MP66e Shadowburst embodies this philosophy with an all-solid construction and FS6 bracing designed to enhance vibration and dynamics while maintaining the precision that the range is known for.

For which guitarist and styles?

Thanks to its Parlor format, the MP66e is aimed at guitarists seeking a comfortable, expressive acoustic that sits well in a mix. It is well suited for intermediate to advanced levels, as well as stage musicians who want a compact electro-acoustic without compromise on definition. Its character particularly highlights fingerstyle, blues, intimate folk, vocal accompaniment, and all situations where precise attack and a strong presence in the midrange are desired.

Sound

The choice of an all-solid mahogany set (top, back, and sides) provides a warm and focused tonal signature, with rich mids, clear attack, and natural sustain. The FS6 bracing promotes a quick response and excellent articulation: notes come out immediately, with a very satisfying sense of control for fingerstyle playing. The Parlor format offers direct projection and an intimate grain, perfect for capturing nuances without excessive bass. Plugged in, the LR Baggs HiFi electronics (two vibration sensors placed under the bridge and high-fidelity electronics) aim for a balanced, detailed, and dynamic reproduction while preserving the instrument's acoustic character.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel and balance, prioritize a set of D'Addario XSAPB1253 strings identical to those factory-installed. The AFC30 case is included, ideal for daily transport and protection.
