The Regent Series: The Alvarez Spirit, Accessible and Reliable
With the Regent series, Alvarez offers a well-crafted entry point into its world: elegant satin finish, consistent manufacturing, and choice of materials designed to last. The RU22B emphasizes everyday playability and tuning stability, while maintaining a sober aesthetic (dark satin brown, mother-of-pearl style rosette, black ABS binding) that stands the test of time without going out of style.
A Baritone Made for Accompanying, Arranging, and Singing
The RU22B is primarily aimed at beginner to intermediate musicians seeking a comfortable and reassuring instrument, as well as guitarists wanting to switch to ukulele without relearning intervals thanks to the "D-G-B-E" tuning. Its lower range is perfectly suited for vocal accompaniment, pop/folk, fingerpicking, and solo arrangements where warmth, a solid low end, and clear mids are desired.
Sound
The combination of laminated mahogany top, back, and sides promotes a warm tone, with present lows and singing mids, while maintaining a consistent response from note to note. The larger baritone format enhances projection and adds body to chords, highly appreciated in both strumming and fingerpicking. The 20.08" / 510 mm scale length provides comfortable tension for a more defined attack and natural sustain, while the satin finish encourages a smooth playing feel and quick response under the fingers.
