A modern tool in the spirit of direct boxes: adapting "consumer" sources to the professional world

On stage, in rehearsal, or in conference rooms, audio sources have changed: playlists, jingles, soundtracks, and videos often originate from a Bluetooth device. The ART BT-DI fits this logic by offering a Bluetooth direct box designed to cleanly connect wireless streaming to a mixer, audio interface, or sound reinforcement system. The goal is simple: maintain the convenience of Bluetooth while regaining balanced XLR outputs suitable for long cable runs and demanding environments.

Who is the ART BT-DI for, and in what applications does it make a difference?

The BT-DI is aimed at stage managers, DJs, musicians, teachers, sound technicians, and content creators who want to quickly integrate a Bluetooth source into a reliable setup. It is ideal for sending hold music, cues, playback, ambiance, or video audio to a mixing console without relying on fragile adapters.

In rehearsals, it avoids makeshift connections and unstable levels. In performances, it reduces interference risks thanks to its balanced output and high maximum output level, while maintaining practical control via the headphone output to monitor the signal.

Key Features: Bluetooth streaming, XLR outputs, and field control

Bluetooth 5.0: simplicity, range, and compatibility

With Bluetooth version 5.0, the ART BT-DI aims for a more comfortable daily connection, with a claimed range up to 50 m (Class 2) depending on the environment. Compatibility with SBC and AAC codecs allows adaptation to most current devices, maintaining consistent listening for music and content streaming.

Balanced XLR outputs: ready for the console

The core of the BT-DI is its ability to provide a signal immediately usable in sound reinforcement thanks to its 2 balanced XLR outputs. This format is designed for professional system integration: better noise immunity over long cable runs, direct connection to a mixer, stagebox, or stage patch, and significant output level (up to 30 dBu balanced ).

Headphone monitoring and verification

To secure an installation in seconds, the 6.35mm Jack headphone output allows checking signal presence and validating the source before sending to the main system. This is a simple but very effective feature, especially during quick changes between performers or soundchecks.

Coupled and switchable grounding: better management of ground loops

In real environments (power strips, lighting, video, computers), unwanted noise can appear. The BT-DI includes a coupled and switchable ground, designed to help adapt grounding behavior depending on the installation context, to recover a cleaner signal when necessary.

Flexible power supply: USB or +48V phantom power

The BT-DI can be powered by 5V via USB (80 mA) or directly via a console's +48V phantom power. This dual option is particularly practical: in studio or fixed setups, USB is immediate; in live situations, phantom power can avoid an additional power supply and simplify cabling.
