A Saint Artisan bass balancing visual elegance and modern versatility

The Saint Artisan Aegean Flame belongs to a range of electric basses that places as much emphasis on playing enjoyment as on the care taken with the materials. Its asymmetrical double-cutaway shape modernizes a familiar silhouette for bassists, while making it easier to reach the highest positions on the neck.

Its Aegean Flame finishing combines a deep blue color with a flamed maple top, creating an instrument that is equally convincing on stage and in the studio. Beneath its refined appearance, this 4-string bass retains a straightforward approach: efficient construction, intuitive passive electronics and hardware designed to let you start playing without delay.

A comfortable bass for learning, rehearsing and performing on stage

With its C-shaped neck, long 34-inch scale length and 13.78-inch / 350 mm radius, this electric bass is aimed at demanding beginners as well as intermediate and advanced bassists looking for a versatile instrument. Its feel remains natural for working on the fundamentals, developing fingerstyle or pick technique, and approaching slap with good precision.

The P/J configuration suits a wide range of genres: rock, pop, funk, blues, soul, reggae, jazz fusion and contemporary music. The double cutaway makes the higher notes more accessible, while the stainless steel frets provide a smooth playing feel and excellent resistance to wear for an instrument intended to be played regularly.

The precision of a J pickup and the impact of a P pickup

The sonic personality of The Saint Artisan Aegean Flame is built around two passive pickups equipped with Alnico V magnets. In the neck position, the P-Bass-style pickup emphasizes generous lows, pronounced low mids and a solid attack: a particularly effective choice for supporting a band with a full, punchy sound.

The J-Bass-style bridge pickup provides greater precision, bite and definition in the upper mids. It brings out more articulate lines, whether played fingerstyle, with a pick or using slap technique. The two independent volume controls allow you to precisely balance the contribution of each pickup, while the master tone control adjusts the brightness according to the amplifier, strings or desired style.

The poplar body promotes a good balance between light weight, resonance and responsiveness. The flamed maple top primarily adds a distinctive visual signature, while the roasted maple neck and key contribute to a clear, dynamic response. The vintage-style fixed bridge, equipped with copper saddles, completes the instrument by promoting efficient vibration transfer and consistent sustain across all four strings.

Recommended compatible accessories

This bass comes supplied with a set of D'Addario XL165 strings in a 45-105 gauge. To preserve the original feel and balance, the same gauge is an appropriate choice when replacing the strings. A 6.35 mm jack instrument cable is also suitable for connecting this passive bass to an amplifier, an effect pedal or an interface equipped with an instrument input.
