Essential Information About The Saint Gloss Black Bass

  • PJ Configuration (P-Bass + J-Bass): a classic setup covering a range from warm groove to a sharper, more precise sound.

  • 100% Passive Electronics with hand-wound passive pickups and hand-wired circuitry for a dynamic and direct response.

  • Roasted maple neck and fingerboard: increased stability and fast feel, with a clear attack.

  • Distinctive look in Gloss Black finish, matching headstock, and chrome hardware.

A "Roasted" Saint: An Evolution Designed for Stability and Character

This "Saint Roasted" version retains the versatile spirit of The Saint model and adds a roasted maple neck/fingerboard duo, prized for its drier feel and good resistance to changing conditions. Finished in Gloss Black, it stands as a bold style variation, crafted for bassists seeking a sober yet instantly recognizable aesthetic.

For Which Bassists and Styles?

Thanks to its PJ configuration and passive electronics, The Saint Gloss Black is suitable both for beginners looking for an easy-to-set-up bass and for intermediate players wanting a reliable and expressive platform. It performs well in rock, pop, funk, blues, reggae, and in studio or rehearsal settings, offering sounds that sit easily in a mix.

Sound Characteristics

The combination of P-Bass (full lows, solid low-mids) and J-Bass (definition, attack, precision) provides a wide palette: by adjusting the 2 volume controls, you can shift from a thick, enveloping tone to a more articulated sound, ideal for pick playing or detailed funk lines. The tone control allows rounding off the high end for a vintage grain or, conversely, retaining clarity to cut through the band. The poplar body promotes a balanced and comfortable response, while the roasted maple adds a crisp attack and a "fast" feel under the fingers. The CTS-type potentiometers contribute to smooth and usable control, handy for fine-tuning pickup blends.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel and balance, we recommend a set of 4-string bass strings in 45-105 gauge, identical to the factory setup.
