Aulos THUMB REST DARK BROWN

Aulos: a key reference for study recorders

Widely used in conservatories and music schools, the Aulos brand has established itself as a standard in the market for beginner recorders. Its reputation is based on consistent and precise manufacturing, with particular attention to ease of play and tuning accuracy. This approach makes it a reassuring choice for starting under good conditions, with a consistent instrument from one unit to another, designed to accompany the first years of practice.

For which musician and uses?

This Aulos recorder is primarily designed for beginners and young musicians : it is perfectly suited for school settings, individual lessons, as well as awakening workshops and group practice. Its design promotes immediate sound production, which helps work on breathing, articulation, and reading. In terms of repertoire, it adapts equally well to traditional music and pop music as to the first pieces of baroque music often approached on the recorder, while remaining pleasant for exercises in tuning and rhythm.

Sound and design

The choice of a high-quality synthetic resin provides real peace of mind: the instrument is less sensitive to humidity variations and generally requires fewer precautions than a wooden model. The sound has been designed for study: easy sound production, quick response, and stable intonation allow focusing on the essentials (breath, fingerings, phrasing) without struggling against the instrument. The adjustable thumb rest improves ergonomics, especially for small hands: it helps find a comfortable placement, limits tension, and promotes a more stable hold, useful from the first notes and during finger changes.

Recommended compatible accessories

To complement daily practice, a cleaning swab suitable for a recorder (with the correct diameter) is recommended to remove moisture after playing and maintain the cleanliness of the windway. A microfiber cloth is also useful for cleaning the exterior and keeping a clean finish, especially with intensive use (school, transport).
