Avantone Mixcubes Active Cream

From the spirit of control "cubes" to a modernized version for high-definition audio

The Avantone MixCubes follow the tradition of compact control speakers used alongside main 2-way or 3-way monitors. The idea is simple: challenge your mix with a deliberately "limited" low-end listening, but coherent, clear, and free of filtering artifacts, to validate the musical balance where it often matters most: the midrange.

After a phase of research and development, comparative listening, and adjustments, the design results in a signature described as softer, with a more open and transparent high end and a more generous bass extension, while maintaining the direct and "basic" character expected from a reference cube.

Who the MixCubes are for and how to integrate them into a studio

These monitors are aimed at sound engineers, beatmakers, producers, and content creators who want to secure the compatibility of their mixes on consumer systems. In practice, they become an excellent second opinion alongside your main studio monitors: you listen at moderate levels, check the presence of vocals, the snare/bass balance, the density of guitars or keyboards, and quickly spot a midrange that is either too crowded or too scooped.

Thanks to their compact size, they are also well suited for small control rooms and home studio setups where acoustics are not perfect: they encourage more "translational" mixing choices and limit the temptation to over-correct the low end.
