S6 Expertise in a Compact and Affordable Format
Designed by Avid as the "little" brother of its high-end surfaces, Pro Tools | Dock condenses the essence of S6 workflows and the hybrid approach of the Artist | Control into a portable chassis. It offers studios, post-production facilities, and home studios a more accessible alternative without sacrificing command precision or EUCON integration.
Who Is It For? Editors, Mixers, and Creators Looking to Work Faster
Whether you're editing dialogue, automating music stems, or mixing for television, Dock provides direct access to critical DAW functions. Paired with an iPad, it transforms navigation, track selection, automation, and plugin management into natural gestures, reducing mouse/keyboard back-and-forth and speeding up every step of the workflow.
Touch Controls and EUCON Integration at the Heart of the Workflow
The touch-sensitive motorized fader delivers musical and precise level control, while the 8 pressure-sensitive touch encoders manage panoramas, sends, and plugin parameters with instant visual feedback. The jog wheel and dedicated transport section streamline scrubbing, shuttle, and locating.
Thanks to EUCON, Dock communicates deeply with major DAWs: access to soft keys, custom layouts, and advanced functions depending on the application. The "Avid Control" app on tablet extends display and editing via touchscreen for smarter contextual control. When paired with a Pro Tools | S3 surface, it deploys a modular mixing environment combining fader banks and custom touch control.

I had been “eyeing” this fairly unknown AVID product for a long time. I work under Protools and I use an Artist Mix. I had the choice between the new S1 (which was partially duplicated with my Artist Mix) or this Dock. Avid recently lowered its prices for this model (made in Mexico). The opportunity being the “thief”, I jumped at the chance. Not disappointed. A real treat as a complement to The Artist. I hardly use the mouse anymore. Two remarks explaining the score of 4/5:1- you really have to wet your jersey to get the most out of it and dive into the mysteries of the beast, especially with soft keys. 2- sold with an American adapter but NO French adapter (as do the majority of companies selling internationally). Not very serious but annoying
