A Type T Revisited in the Spirit of the Universe Series
The Bacchus Universe BTE-1DX RSM/M BBD belongs to the Universe series, a line designed to offer accessible instruments while incorporating design choices usually reserved for more premium models. Here, the intention is clear: to preserve the visual DNA of a Type T while adding decidedly modern elements such as stainless steel frets, a torrefied neck, and enhanced ergonomics thanks to the heel-less joint. Made in China, it aims for an excellent balance between finish, comfort, and versatility.
Who Is the BTE-1DX For? A Versatile Guitar from Home Studio to Stage
Thanks to its 25.5" / 648 mm scale length, H-S-H pickup configuration, and coil tap, this electric guitar is particularly suited for serious beginners up to intermediate players who want an instrument capable of exploring multiple styles without changing guitars. It performs well in pop, rock, funk, indie, as well as blues and modern rock, where the humbucker position adds body and output level. The synchronized tremolo completes the setup for subtle vibratos, more expressive effects, and a more "lead" approach.
Tone: Torrefied Maple, H-S-H, and Coil Tap for Switching from Snappy to Powerful
The poplar body provides a balanced sonic foundation, with a clear response and good definition, ideal for maintaining clarity in both chords and riffs. Combined with the torrefied maple neck and torrefied maple fingerboard, you get a more precise attack and a brighter upper spectrum, with an immediate dynamic feel under the fingers. This combination highlights pick nuances while keeping a clean and articulate sound in clean tones.
The Original H-S-H configuration is designed to cover a wide range: the humbuckers add thickness, sustain, and impact for saturated rhythms or solos, while the single-coil in the middle favors more airy and percussive sounds. The coil tap mini-switch opens up the spectrum by approaching finer and brighter textures, very useful for funky lines, arpeggios, or layering in recording. With 1 Volume and 1 Tone, the interface remains straightforward: quick adjustment, play, and real-time tone shaping without getting lost in controls.
Finally, the stainless steel frets contribute to a very smooth feel and a clear response, while offering excellent durability over time. The 320R radius (approximately 12.6" / 320 mm) provides an effective compromise: flat enough to facilitate bends and lead playing, yet comfortable for chords.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel and balance, favor a set of 010-046 electric strings (same gauge as factory-installed). The guitar comes with a gig bag and a wrench, handy for routine maintenance and adjustments.
