Questions frequently asked
Does the Behringer Ring Stinger work with a bass or a keyboard?
The Blend control allows adjusting the balance between the dry and effected signals, which helps to maintain clarity on bass. Keyboards can also utilize the ring mod's harmonics, especially on sounds rich in overtones.
What power supply is required for this pedal?
A 9 VDC center-negative power supply is required, with a minimum current rating of 400 mA. Battery operation is not supported.
Can the oscillator be controlled with a CV signal?
The VCO CV input on a 6.35 mm TRS jack accepts a range from 0 to +5 V to control the oscillator frequency. A VCO Out output is also available to route the oscillator signal elsewhere in the audio chain.
What modulation settings are available?
Four VCO waveform options are offered: sine, triangle, sawtooth, and square. Frequency is adjusted with VCO Freq, while the LFO has Depth/Manual and Rate controls. The LFO can modulate either the pulse width or the frequency depending on the selected setting.
What sound does the Ring Stinger produce?
The combination of ring modulation and saturation generates metallic, bell-like, or atonal textures. The Drive, Timbre, and Blend controls allow adjustment of gain, tonal balance, and the mix between dry and processed signals.
