BG France and the Flex Ligature: The Demand for French Craftsmanship

BG France has built a solid reputation among clarinetists and saxophonists thanks to carefully crafted accessories, assembled artisanally. Each ligature is inspected and potentially defective parts are discarded to maintain a high-quality standard. In this spirit, the Flex ligature stands out with its textile design, both understated and effective, designed to offer consistent musical response and a comfortable playing feel.

For Whom and In Which Styles?

This ligature is designed for the B-flat clarinet with an ebonite mouthpiece. It is particularly suited for the classical repertoire thanks to its round and homogeneous sound, while remaining accessible: its easy adjustment and robustness make it a relevant choice for both the beginner and the advanced player seeking a reliable daily accessory.

Sound and Design

Without a plate, the Flex favors direct contact and stable grip around the mouthpiece, promoting smooth emission and a round timbre. The synthetic fabric provides a "soft" sensation (in the spirit of Flex) and contributes to a balanced response, with homogeneity across all registers appreciated for working on intonation, legato continuity, and sound consistency. Aesthetically, its red finish offers a distinctive visual identity while remaining discreet on the instrument.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

Since the ligature is delivered with a BG Ndeg5 mouthpiece cap, you already have an essential accessory to protect the mouthpiece from shocks and dust during transport and breaks between sessions.
