Summary of This Method

Volume 8. End of Studies (DFE 2) is aimed at 3rd cycle students who wish to complete their musical training with a structured, progressive, and demanding practice. The goal is clear: to stabilize reading, secure rhythm, and develop reliable automatisms in situations encountered both in class and during evaluations.

Organized into progressive lessons, this volume offers two work paces: 21 lessons to gradually build skills for beginners, or 12 lessons for advanced students, focusing on essentials while maintaining a logical progression. The material centers on reading/rhythm : ordonnances, note reading, and rhythmic reading exercises designed to enhance precision, regularity, and sight-reading speed.

The method is part of a broader pedagogical system: used alongside the Singing/Ear Training/Analysis series, it connects instrumental reading to fundamental musicianship skills. This complementary series includes original sung readings, error detection exercises, and analysis exercises. Depending on the version, dictations may also be offered (notably in the teacher's edition), to work on listening and memorization methodically.

Result: a solfège and musical training resource that is both technical and musical, designed to support the student through to the end of their studies, with structured, practical content that can be directly applied daily at the conservatory or music school.
