Summary of This Method

This music theory method places rhythm at the center of learning, with a progression aligned with the expectations of different classes. The goal is to consolidate the basics (pulse, subdivision, accentuation, regularity) while developing confident and expressive rhythmic reading. The approach alternates rigorous work and playful situations to encourage the student's autonomy and engagement, both in class and at home.

The content is based on a wide variety of materials: vocal games to integrate pulse and durations through the body and voice, literary texts to articulate rhythm and diction, as well as polyphonic excerpts to work on listening, timing, and coordination. Exercises to be performed on small percussion instruments complement the whole, ideal for refining precision, synchronization, and tempo feel, alone or in groups.

Designed for educational use, this method is intended for both students and teachers seeking a clear, lively, and effective tool to approach rhythms progressively. Authors: Elyane Plochel-Seguy, Simone Chemin-Magnard, Dominique Boudot, Pascale Maillard, Bernard Forest, Michele Dargaud, Michele-Florence Carre, Edith Brot, Daniele Casez, Jocelyne Montfort.
