Summary of This Method

Designed for children, teenagers, and adults, this method addresses a wide audience: instrumentalists, singers, dancers, and more broadly anyone wishing to strengthen their understanding of rhythm. The goal is to acquire reliable reflexes and genuine rhythmic ease, while progressing more autonomously throughout the sessions.

The proposed learning is intended to be more lively and intuitive, in a spirit close to that of percussionists. Rather than remaining solely in the abstraction of reading, rhythm is first established through the body, voice, and listening, in order to develop a stable internal sensation. This approach then makes adaptation to the instrument more natural: rhythm is no longer "decoded," it is felt and placed with precision.

The work revolves around short rhythmic cells, looped and repeated in various ways: physically (pulse, gestures, movements), vocally (onomatopoeia, phrasing), and instrumentally. Through arrangement and repetition, the student builds a circular perception of rhythm, gradually linking gesture, hearing, and reading. This approach promotes a more solid foundation, better coordination, and a finer understanding of layering.

Each lesson is organized into very progressive steps: establishing the rhythmic framework, polyrhythm games, guided improvisation, variations, then composition. This progression leads to a repertoire piece, conceived as a concrete musical achievement. An audio support accompanies the course with a rhythmic backing and play-back tracks of the pieces, to work on regularity, listening, and interpretation in conditions close to playing in a real situation.
