Summary of This Book

Designed to strengthen rhythmic reading and precision of timing, this work offers texts and rhythms to actively experiment with: one does not just "read," but puts rhythm into voice and gesture. You will find one-voice exercises with alternating hands, perfect for establishing regularity, independence, and coordination, while maintaining a bodily sense of the pulse.

The book also explores rhythmic prosody, with sequences in spoken one voice: a highly effective approach to link articulation, flow, and rhythmic placement. To go further, some prosodies are accompanied by a rhythmic line struck on the hands or played with percussion instruments. Depending on the exercises, this accompanying line may be provided or left to invent, stimulating listening, creativity, and the ability to build a simple and stable ostinato.

The whole is structured into several parts of increasing difficulty, allowing for long-term use. The progression is designed for students at the end of the 1st cycle, then beginning, middle, and end of the 2nd cycle, up to the 3rd cycle. Whether in music theory classes, rhythmic workshops, instrumental support, or group work, this resource quickly becomes an excellent companion to gain confidence, precision, and musicality.
