A Compact DeckLink Solution for Bringing Professional Video into Your Workstation
The Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Recorder is a PCI Express capture card designed to easily connect professional video sources to a desktop computer. It is part of the DeckLink range as a straightforward, compact solution for digitizing, recording and integrating SDI or HDMI signals into an editing environment.
Unlike more advanced cards designed for playback, monitoring or multi-format workflows, this version focuses on the essentials: cleanly capturing an external source in SD or HD. Its single-lane PCIe format allows it to be easily integrated into a workstation equipped with 4-, 8- or 16-lane PCIe slots.
For Editors, Video Creators and Control Rooms That Need to Capture an SDI or HDMI Source
This recording card is suitable for video editors, post-production studios, content creators, compact control rooms and audiovisual installations that need to acquire a signal from a camera, video mixer, player or other SDI- or HDMI-equipped device.
It allows a video signal to be brought directly into the computer for recording, reviewing and organizing footage, integrating it into an editing project or using it in effects and design software. 10-bit uncompressed capture provides a reliable foundation for images requiring careful color grading, compositing or post-production retouching.
10-Bit Capture, Professional Inputs and Simplified PCIe Integration
Clean Video Acquisition in SDI and HDMI
The DeckLink Mini Recorder features a switchable 10-bit SD/HD SDI input as well as a Type A HDMI input. This dual connectivity makes it easy to integrate sources from both broadcast environments and standard HDMI video equipment. Switching between SD and HD formats provides welcome flexibility when projects alternate between different production standards.
Audio Embedded in the Video Signal
The audio signal travels directly with the video via the SDI or HDMI inputs. The card supports up to 8 channels of embedded audio in SD and HD, eliminating the need to systematically add a dedicated audio interface to capture the sound associated with the image. This configuration is particularly useful for capturing multicamera programs, interviews, filmed concerts or feeds from a control room.
A Format Designed for Compact Workstations
Thanks to its single-lane PCI Express interface, the card can be installed in various types of workstations. Two PCIe brackets are included: a standard version and a Low Profile version. The DeckLink Mini Recorder can therefore fit equally well in a conventional editing tower or a compact computer with a small footprint.
