A Studio Camera Built for Multicam with Blackmagic DNA
The Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro follows the Studio Camera line philosophy: providing studio camera ergonomics (comfortable viewfinder, tally, intercom, remote control) while maintaining cinema-oriented technical choices (Super 35, EF mount, Blackmagic RAW). It targets productions seeking premium image quality without complicating the control room, thanks to advanced integration of video, audio, and control signals.
For Studios, Events, and Sets Wanting 6K Image Quality Without Slowing Production
This camera is aimed at talk shows, concerts, corporate events, indoor sports, places of worship, streaming studios, and broadcast sets whenever a more "cinematic" multicam look is desired. Its very bright screen facilitates focus and exposure, while autofocus (with compatible lenses) provides a real responsiveness boost when shots follow quickly. In control room environments, tally and intercom contribute to clear communication between camera operators and directors.
6K, ND, Network: A Studio Camera with a Streamlined Workflow
Super 35 Sensor and Dynamic Range: More Flexibility in Grading and Live
With its effective 23.10 x 12.99 mm (Super 35) sensor, 13 stops of latitude, and dual native ISO (0 dB and 18 dB), the Studio Camera 6K Pro is designed to remain usable on high-contrast sets while preserving a consistent image signature. It supports frame rates from 23.98 to 60 fps, with off-speed modes adapted by resolution (5 to 50 fps in 6K, 5 to 60 fps in other resolutions), and Ultra HD downscaled from 5.3K for detailed rendering.
Built-in ND IR Filters: Shutter Speed and Aperture Stay Under Control
The integrated infrared ND filters with 4 positions (none, 2, 4, 6 stops) allow quick exposure adjustment without compromising your intended depth of field. This is a key advantage on hybrid sets (indoor/outdoor), stage capture with follow spots, or brightly lit sets where natural motion and consistent aperture are desired.
Studio Connectivity and Control: From 12G-SDI to 10G Ethernet
The camera combines one 12G-SDI input and output, one HDMI 2.0 output, and a 10G Ethernet port. Depending on your setup, camera control can be routed via SDI, HDMI, or Ethernet, with logic designed for multicam production and integration into a control room. Power can also be simplified via PoE Type 4 (RJ45), convenient for reducing cabling on certain sets.
Streaming and Recording: RTMP and Blackmagic RAW via USB-C
For broadcast workflows, RTMP streaming can be managed via Ethernet or USB-C. On the recording side, the Studio Camera 6K Pro can record Blackmagic RAW (3:1 to Q5) to external media via USB-C, with media management through a web browser (Web media manager) and network options (FTP, SMB, NTP) for better integration into studio pipelines.
