What Blue Cat Fader Hub Is For
Blue Cat Fader Hub is designed to centralize audio mixing and streaming between multiple computers, allowing you to play with other musicians remotely while maintaining minimal latency. It is suitable for bands rehearsing (each with their own laptop), collaborative production setups, preproduction sessions, or live environments where you want to share audio streams and build custom headphone mixes without excessive complexity.
Thanks to its peer-to-peer approach, each musician can manage their own balance (their instrument versus the rest of the group), while benefiting from a solution designed for stability (drift compensation, resampling, compression options) and flexibility (standalone or plug-in).
Main Features
LLAN Console: Network Mixing and Streaming
Fader Hub offers a local mixing console to gather multiple inputs from an audio interface, and a network mixer to send your mix (or individual signals) to other machines. You can then remix locally the received streams to adjust your listening in real time, ideal for group sessions, distributed rehearsals, or multi-computer studio setups.
Recording Mix and Individual Streams
The recording section allows you to capture the final mix and/or each stream separately. This is a major advantage for turning a jam into usable material: you get clean tracks to import into a DAW for editing, reamping, editing, or more advanced mixing.
Built-in Processing and Plug-in Compatibility
To shape the sound directly in the console, Fader Hub includes several native effects (EQ, compressor, gate, delays, reverb...). If you already have your favorite tools, you can also load third-party plug-ins (VST, VST3, Audio Unit) and build processing chains tailored to each musician or stream (cleaning, dynamics, ambiance, etc.).
Professional Workflow: Automation, MIDI, Presets, Ergonomics
The software incorporates production-oriented workflow standards: MIDI control and automation, MIDI Learn, preset management, undo/redo, state copy between instances, and a customizable interface (zoom, transparency). The whole is designed to stay smooth, even in dense sessions, with CPU optimization when the signal is silent.
Updates and Improvements (Version 1.3)
Version 1.3 focuses on networking and robustness: possible sending of individual input signals (beyond simple stereo mix), visualization and remixing of remote channels, aggregation and recording of up to 64 stereo inputs from multiple computers, as well as numerous optimizations (sync, latency compensation, extended MIDI, plug-in host stability, interface and accessibility improvements).

Questions frequently asked
Does Blue Cat Audio Fader Hub work for remote jamming with multiple computers?
The peer-to-peer architecture allows audio streams to be shared between multiple machines and for locally remixing the received signals. Each participant can thus adjust their own headphone mix with minimal latency.
Can each musician be recorded separately with Fader Hub?
The recording section captures the full mix and/or individual tracks on the local machine. Version 1.3 enables aggregating and recording up to 64 stereo inputs from multiple computers.
Which effects and plug-ins are compatible?
Built-in effects including EQ, compressor, gate, delays, and reverb are available in the console. Loading third-party VST, VST3, and Audio Unit plug-ins is supported depending on the operating system.
Is Fader Hub compatible with Mac and Windows?
The standalone application is available on macOS 10.9 or later, as well as on Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10. The built-in resampling allows multiple sample rates on the same network connection.
Can the software be controlled with a foot controller or MIDI controller?
Extended MIDI control supports CC, notes, pitch bend, NRPN, 14-bit CC, aftertouch, and channel pressure. The MIDI Learn function allows assigning console parameters to a compatible controller.
