A Ligature Designed to Optimize Reed Vibration
This semi-rigid ligature features a modern design: the pressure plate (the part that presses on the reed) uses 2 rails to distribute pressure and allow the reed to vibrate more naturally. The goal is to achieve comfortable sound production and a rounder tone color, particularly appreciated on a metal mouthpiece.
For Which Musician and Playing Context
Suitable for beginner to advanced saxophonists, this ligature is ideal for daily practice (intonation, articulation, dynamics) as well as contexts where a denser sound is sought: jazz, pop, funk, or modern repertoire. It may also interest classical musicians looking for a flexible response on a metal mouthpiece.
Sound and Design
The choice of a composite material and a 2-rail pressure plate aims for a quick response and a playing feel that is less "locked" compared to some very rigid ligatures. In practice, the rail pressure tends to promote good projection while maintaining a warm timbre as advertised. Glossary: the ligature holds the reed on the mouthpiece, and the pressure plate largely determines the sensation of pressure and freedom of vibration.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
The mouthpiece cap is already included. To preserve the ligature and mouthpiece, gentle cleaning after playing (dry cloth) helps maintain consistent tightening.
