A 000-28 in the Spirit of 1933: Martin DNA Revisited in Golden Era Version

Part of the Standard series, the 000-28 1933 Ambertone Golden Era belongs to the heritage of Martin guitars handcrafted in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. It features the brand's fundamentals: selection of solid woods, dovetail neck joint, and top architecture designed to bring out a full and inspiring tone. This "Golden Era" version emphasizes vintage-inspired aesthetics and lutherie choices, with improvements in comfort and sound transmission (vintage-look nut promoting string alignment, carefully crafted headstock joint, more classic heel profile, fingerboard refined with slightly beveled edges).

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

Thanks to its 000 format and nuanced response, this Martin targets intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a high-end, expressive, and dynamic folk guitar. It excels in fingerpicking, folk, acoustic blues, vocal accompaniment, and arrangements in open tunings, while remaining very comfortable with a pick when precise attack is desired without losing warmth. Its more compact size compared to a dreadnought favors comfort during long sessions, both in the studio and at home.

Sound

The Sitka spruce top provides clarity, attack, and a great dynamic range: the more you play, the more the guitar responds. The Golden Era X bracing highlights an "open" vibration sensation, with better resonance and more present sustain, ideal for articulated playing and sustained notes. The East Indian rosewood back and sides complete the sound with deep lows, silky highs, and rich harmonics, delivering a wide spectrum that enhances both delicate picking and full chords. The ebony fingerboard and bridge enhance precision and definition, while the traditional dovetail construction promotes vibration transmission and a "living" character under the fingers.
