The "StreetMaster" spirit: a Junior designed to move, with a well-loved look
The D Jr E StreetMaster embodies Martin's "Junior" approach: offering a travel guitar without sacrificing the tonal foundation of a full-size instrument. Its satin finishing with a weathered look evokes a guitar that has already covered plenty of miles, while remaining comfortable to the touch. The result: an acoustic-electric guitar with a strong character, made to follow you everywhere, with a soft gig bag included to protect the instrument every day.
Who is it for, and which styles?
This Martin is aimed at demanding beginners as well as intermediate and advanced players looking for a more compact guitar that is easy to take on the road, to the studio or to jam sessions. Its D Junior body size and tonal balance make it particularly well suited to folk, pop, country, acoustic rock and vocal accompaniment, while remaining equally comfortable with more detailed picking parts.
The sound
The solid sapele delivers a warm tonal character, with punchy mids that help the guitar remain clear in a mix. The scalloped X-bracing (with spruce braces) enhances projection and clarity, resulting in a balanced, responsive and natural sound, whether strumming large open chords or articulating more intricate passages. When plugged in, the Martin E1 electronics provide practical and effective amplification, with a built-in tuner to keep you in tune in all circumstances.
