The new Martin Junior: the "vintage Martin" spirit in a range designed to move

The Martin Junior series has evolved to meet a very current need: to maintain a true acoustic identity while gaining mobility. Martin revisits the idea of the "takeaway" guitar by bringing it closer to a more familiar playing experience, thanks to the full scale length and redesigned comfort details. The result: a Junior that is no longer just a backup, but can become a main guitar for composing, rehearsing, and playing amplified.
The range covers several iconic shapes, with Dreadnought, 000 formats and cutaway versions, and welcomes new models like the 000 Jr E Sapele and the D Jr E StreetLegend Burst. Each instrument comes with a sturdy gig bag, ready for travel.

A guitar to play more often, longer, without fatigue

The Martin Junior is aimed at a wide audience: the beginner guitarist who wants a branded acoustic, easy to handle, as well as the intermediate to advanced musician looking for a reliable and inspiring second guitar always within reach. Its compact format is particularly comfortable for long sessions, smaller statures, or simply for those who prefer a relaxed playing position.
In terms of styles, it excels in folk, pop, chanson, light bluegrass and pick accompaniment as well as fingerstyle. The Martin E1 preamp also allows quick transition from living room to stage, with simple and effective controls.

Warmth, projection, and balance: the Martin signature in Junior format

The choice of solid woods is at the heart of the series' sonic identity. Woods like sapele provide a rich and even response, with present mids and a nice sense of "body" in the chord, while spruce (depending on models) favors attack, clarity, and projection. This combination aims for a sound that is both warm and defined, ideal for highlighting clean rhythmic playing or clear arpeggios.
The craftsmanship and ergonomics have been designed to encourage playing: thinner fingerboard, slightly beveled edges for a softer feel under the hand, and optimized string spacing to gain precision effortlessly. On some models, satin chrome tuners add a refined touch and a more pleasant tuning experience daily.
Plugged in, the Junior retains its character thanks to the Martin E1: the built-in tuner simplifies setup, the volume and tone controls allow quick balance adjustment, and the phase switch is a practical asset to better control certain resonances depending on the room, PA, or placement.
