Summary of This Score
Weihnachtskonzert ĂŒber "Lobt Gott, ihr Christen alle gleich." The Klaus Hofmann edition follows the tradition of Christmas pieces where a chorale theme serves as the guiding thread. Michel Corrette deploys a language typical of the Baroque repertoire, alternating rhythmic impulses, more lyrical passages, and moments of harmonic support that emphasize the festive character of the chant. The whole offers clear musical readability, ideal for establishing precise ensemble work (entries, balances, articulations) while maintaining a naturally "jubilant" energy.
The instrumentation is designed to adapt to the realities of ensembles: the soprano flute brings a bright and projected color, while one or two violins allow modulation of the density and presence of the upper voices. The organ provides the harmonic foundation and can be supported, if desired, by a keyboard and/or cello ad libitum, thus reinforcing the basso continuo and sonic depth. This flexibility makes it an excellent choice for a small church ensemble, an early music workshop, or an educational concert program focused on style and collective listening.
