Celestion G12M HempBack 50W 8 Ohms

Essential information about the Celestion G12M HempBack 50W 8 Ohm guitar speaker

• More powerful Greenback signature: the Celestion midrange character, with more sustain and a smoky feel thanks to the hemp cone.

• Controlled tonal balance: punchy lows, singing mids with the Celestion crunch, smooth highs that tame bright amps.

• Versatile on stage and in the studio: ideal for 12-inch cabinets, from vintage sounds to modern, warm textures.

• Celestion reliability: M-type ceramic magnet and steel chassis to handle 50 W while remaining responsive and musical.

From the legendary Greenback to the HempBack signature

Celestion shaped rock history with its expressive midrange Greenbacks. The G12M HempBack builds on this M-type ceramic base by adding a carefully selected hemp cone. The result: a more mellow and enveloping version of the Greenback tone, with increased power reserve for guitarists who want to push their amp without sacrificing musicality.

For whom and for which amps?

The HempBack is aimed at rock, blues, indie, and roots guitarists seeking an organic, warm, and inspiring tone. Its smoothness in the upper spectrum makes it an excellent choice for naturally bright amps when a more relaxed high-end response is desired while maintaining definition and punch in the low-midrange.

Hemp cone: warmth and texture

Hemp provides natural damping that softens the edges of the highs and enhances the sense of roundness. The attacks remain clear, but the note decay becomes creamier, ideal for expressive overdrives and thick cleans.

M-type ceramic magnet: the Celestion crunch

The medium-weight ceramic motor preserves the typical G12M dynamics: present mids that cut through the mix, musical compression when pushing the volume, and singing sustain under the fingers.

Mix-ready balance

With punchy and controlled lows, balanced mids, and silky highs, the HempBack integrates easily in a band setting as well as close-miking situations. Use one in a 1x12 for club gigs, or combine them in a 2x12/4x12 for more presence live.
