The Fuzz Face is one of the foundational effects in electric guitar history: a seemingly simple circuit, yet capable of shifting from a thick, velvety tone to an almost clean sound just by adjusting the instrument's volume knob. The silicon version (silicon transistors) is especially appreciated for its stability, sharper attack, and a more cutting edge compared to some softer-character variants.

Note: even though prototyping is done on a breadboard, the DIY spirit remains the same. Assembly and construction remain the user's responsibility: that's also the freedom (and satisfaction) of DIY.

The Sound
