Cort ACT4p Trans Red

An Accessible Bass, Heir to Cort's Expertise

The Cort Action Plus is part of a series designed to offer an affordable 4-string electric bass without sacrificing the essentials: reliable craftsmanship, versatile electronics, and manufacturing backed by decades of experience. The poplar body provides a well-balanced overall tone, while the equipment (PJ pickups and active preamp) positions this model as a complete option for those seeking a "ready-for-anything" bass on a controlled budget.

Who Is It For, and What Styles?

This bass is particularly suited for beginners and intermediate players looking for a versatile instrument to progress, rehearse with a band, or record at home. Thanks to the PJ configuration and active EQ, the Cort Action Plus performs well in rock, pop, funk, variety, and even heavier contexts where a clear attack and firm lows are expected. It also works well as a reliable second bass for rehearsals or gigs.

The Sound

The PJ Powersound pickup duo combines two complementary tonal signatures: the Precision-type pickup adds grain and a solid foundation in the low mids, while the Jazz-type pickup enhances definition and articulation, useful for fingerstyle as well as pick playing. The 2-band active EQ allows quick sculpting of the spectrum: more bass to thicken a verse, more treble to highlight attack and presence. The combination of a poplar body and maple neck promotes a balanced response with good clarity, and the jatoba fingerboard contributes to precise attack and a pleasant feel.
