The Modernized Vintage Spirit Within the G Series
Part of Cort's G series, the G200 SE adopts the classic double cutaway design and updates it with smart choices: roasted maple neck and fingerboard, simple and effective electronics, and a "Sea Foam Green" finish with a decidedly retro look. This model is designed to offer the familiar feel of an icon while maintaining the reliability and consistency of modern manufacturing.
Who Is It For and Which Styles?
Ideal for ambitious beginners as well as intermediate guitarists, the G200 SE shines in pop, funk, blues, and rock. The single-coil neck position delivers smooth, velvety cleans, the intermediate "quack" positions cut through the mix in rhythm playing, and the humbucker at the bridge provides the gain needed for powerful riffs and singing solos.
Sound Characteristics
The poplar body offers a very responsive mid/high balance, perfect for defined attacks. The roasted maple neck and fingerboard enhance precision and natural brightness, with a clear sustain. The Cort Powersound pickups in HSS configuration provide a wide palette: clear and sparkling single coils at the neck and middle, denser and more powerful humbucker at the bridge. The 5-way selector and 1 volume/1 tone controls allow quick adjustment of the balance between clarity, warmth, and projection.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To get the best out of this 6-string electric guitar, choose nickel-plated steel string sets in 9-42 or 10-46 gauge, a gig bag or a hard case sized for a standard electric guitar, a comfortable strap with secure strap locks, and a quality straight instrument cable with 6.35 mm jack. A stable guitar stand and a set of metric Allen wrenches will facilitate routine maintenance and adjustments of the tremolo and neck.
