Kaplan Amo: A String Designed for Color and Control
The D'Addario Kaplan series was developed to meet the expectations of demanding musicians, with two complementary families: Kaplan Vivo (brighter and more direct) and Kaplan Amo (warmer and fuller). The Kaplan Amo E string fits within this philosophy: promoting controlled projection and a rich tonal palette, while maintaining a comfortable and stable playing feel.
For Which Violinist and Styles?
This medium tension E string for 4/4 violin is well suited for intermediate to professional musicians seeking an E string that remains singing, with a clear response and good intonation stability. It adapts to classical repertoires (soloist, chamber music, orchestra) and any context where a present yet musical E string is desired, without excessive aggressiveness.
Sound Characteristics
In the spirit of Kaplan Amo, this string aims for a warm and dense sound, with a noticeable flexibility under the bow. It emphasizes a rich and powerful tone and stabilizes quickly, helping players regain their playing reference points soon after installation. The efficient bow response promotes clean articulation, useful for both crisp attacks and expressive legato.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
This string is intended for a full-size (4/4) violin with a 328 mm vibrating length. To ensure perfect compatibility, always verify the 4/4 size and vibrating length before selecting a full set or replacement string.
