Rico: a reference favored by musicians and teachers
Known for their excellent value for money, Rico "Orange Box" reeds are among the most popular models for ensemble playing and teaching. The brand emphasizes manufacturing consistency thanks to modern machinery and advanced production processes, ensuring a more consistent reed from one piece to another.
For which musician and styles?
These reeds are especially aimed at beginners and intermediate players seeking an easy reed, as well as jazz musicians looking for a flexible response. They are also very suitable for variety, ensembles, and educational contexts.
Sound and design
Thanks to a thinner vamp and an "American" oriented cut, the reed responds quickly, with a smooth playing feel and good flexibility. The 2.0 strength promotes fluid sound production and natural vibration, while maintaining projection suitable for daily practice.
Recommended compatible accessories
To preserve response and longevity, a ventilated reed case/holder (universal) is recommended to transport and properly dry your reeds.
