A "Long Scale" Format Designed for Modern Violas
On large-sized violas, the vibrating length and tension balance become crucial to maintain comfortable playability and reliable intonation. These "Long Scale" strings are designed to fit this size, with specific optimization for a 380 mm scale length.
For Which Musician and Styles?
This set is intended for violists seeking a Heavy gauge : orchestral players, chamber musicians, or contemporary repertoire performers who want impeccable string stability, a sharper attack, and increased projection. Ideal if you appreciate greater resistance to the bow and precise control over dynamics.
Sound Characteristics
The Heavy gauge promotes a dense and focused sound, with better power reserve and stable response, particularly useful in sustained passages and forte dynamics. On certain instruments, this higher tension can provide more presence and definition, while requiring a bit more energy from the left hand and bow.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To prolong the clarity and longevity of your strings, a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe off rosin after each session is a simple and safe complement.
