A Versatile Standard in the Range: The "Medium" Choice
Medium tension is often considered the benchmark for combining tuning stability, natural feel under the left hand, and bowing consistency. On a "Long Scale" viola, it maintains a balanced playing sensation while respecting the 380 mm vibrating string length.
Who and In What Playing Contexts?
These strings are intended for violists from beginner to advanced levels seeking a reliable daily solution: conservatory practice, orchestra rehearsals, chamber music, and classical repertoire. Medium tension is also suitable for players who want stable playability without excessive stiffness.
Sound Characteristics
On a long-scale viola, medium tension generally contributes to a balanced response : controlled attack, good note sustain, and exploitable dynamics without forcing. The airtight packaging helps preserve sound consistency over time by limiting the effects of corrosion on feel and vibration.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To extend the lifespan of your strings, using a soft cloth after each session is recommended to remove rosin and perspiration.
