A premium set built to last, even when you play hard
The D'Addario XS Nickel XSE1156 strings are designed for guitarists who want the sound and feel of a fresh set for longer. Their extremely thin XS coating film effectively protects against corrosion and grime while maintaining a quick response under the fingers. The result: smoother slides, precise attack, and clarity that stays consistent repetition after repetition.
For which styles and tunings
With their "Medium Top / Extra Heavy Bottom" balance, these strings are especially suited for heavy riffs, modern rock, hard rock, metal, and any situation where the lows need to stay tight and well-defined. The 11-56 gauge is also an excellent choice if you tune down a whole step or play in Drop D to maintain a stable playing feel without a "spongy" effect.
Tuning stability and reliability in play
The NY Steel core and Fusion Twist technology provide real gains in durability and tuning retention. Harmonics come through with more richness, dynamics remain clear, and every bend keeps a more reliable intonation. As a bonus, the set comes in a resealable and recyclable VCI pouch with a Players Circle registration code.
